The best laid plans and then things. So we plan our Memorial Day barbecues. And anything. We plan to be -- -- certain times and then there's Austin traffic. We planned guest for he said she said radio helped -- and things can really get excited exactly -- but it's how we deal with these inevitable occurrences that happen in life that makes this so we. Right so each of our guests on the show tonight -- made some pretty fast changes to be here. -- and it still do that for radio show you can just imagine what he'll do for their customers and clients that's right. But let's fully into that we're gonna talk a little bit about that as we get into the show but before you into that. Let's all talk about a little bit about. How old we how much more and the rain affected our Memorial -- plans as everybody how to have a plan B for not -- -- -- so what was the plan B and Bailey House. Still actually -- what we're gonna do as we were indecent for soccer tournament my son -- soccer. -- that we were coming home and we were planning on working in the yard. And so it did so entertainment -- yeah. I got to relax a perfect. So let's go with plan B over the market itself. Since the -- and planning starting with a kick out with family hello I'm Manny and and four in addition to the two of us have but I think you like something like 64 and I'm all your -- prize for. Now that Scott was in charge of the kids he helped worsen and I'll let him tell you have a mayor. Yeah I wish I was seriously gonna blame the weather for my malfunction -- After sightseeing that are. I -- -- -- -- best laid plans are I go out to start the gas grills. -- a brand new propane tanks that we need. Literally just put on and on Friday afternoon so that you knew you had a little Saturday for correct and then Heather's parents were in town visiting for the Friday evening so we already playing -- it was fantastic. And yours truly forgot to turn the grill costs. -- are now went out to cook for -- people and had no gas. So I -- the Heather we conservatives in the oven she said if he won fifty minutes or so and after an essence we walked down the street use someone else is growth of. Nightmare yeah. Right well that's who Israel neighborly that -- -- neighborly neighbors say hey yankees my girlfriend on slap your food are my -- but somehow I don't think. That's sort of how when you -- Kudos to the neighbors that said yeah yeah a minute of the day right yeah -- anybody with a propane grill so done that before oh yeah. Yeah -- you forget there's not an off button you know that you -- you have to physically turn it off Brian Kennedy you're a little too deep into the -- -- he could forget that really adds. There's no he's he's right there today I doubt I'll stick with that Mariah thought. And so our -- what do you all that I know you where you were hurt Memorial Day weekend are you getting us work together to get them wrong can you are. Well it's funny because I work on holidays to what holiday is driven by the weather's high just -- -- -- -- -- -- better. -- didn't bother me all drives dig out and now what about the what about like Iraq. -- -- isn't much we had a barbecue planned with neighbors we still went -- net change was sad. We had drink enough more than we -- -- -- I thought there was a definite we're gonna do some. Standup paddle boarding an jet skiing but you know we'll take the rainy day here Boston's -- and we're happy with playwright -- that -- now as did. -- that's I disease really hard to get upset about the rain and sit out -- -- -- you know. But that was the funny thing about it I mean at no matter where you went over the weekend no matter whose plans got changed sure everybody had big smile on yeah everybody was so happy to have the rain yeah when the sun came up later -- Oh yeah. I around the smaller and you know as voters ourselves we were really happy to see the rain comes down. I had I was all that I had a different grilled foods prepared for a every single day that we can't help. -- you Monday. How we act burgers did you had a burgers served morals that we have had an I had shrimp another day we -- it -- Because we have this is this is a little chips were grilling those we have a trader with -- we. -- -- -- -- of land and it allows somebody like. Rick Reilly off balance the -- I mean it would have to burn like -- days. -- could the that's basically what we did he had just abandon lessons on the trigger when yeah. -- don't worry we'll get to accept an excellent so I would take a little break we're gonna pay some bills we come back we're gonna get in twosome my ties and bring into this fabulous -- from Chavez. Welcome back to -- She says radio I'm so. Seven and we are gonna have a funky good time when we -- but could -- already crunches and from. Then I have -- and -- then not write about it. Double fists and Donald fan and I glass down and then miraculously the Netherlands showed -- and it's the miracle of radio yeah that's about it but thought. So let's get right into bars and these frozen -- against our restaurant guests tonight. Is mr. -- Scott who is director of operations of all of the park side restaurants in Europe recently shopping and still can't cook. Instead it but you assemble beautifully you know that big a great job assembling. Thank you so. Shop does -- the newest. Restaurants in the parks like -- And for those listeners who may not know the other restaurants would you share those with us yes or restaurant group parks and project that sponsor kill our chef and owner. And it's my fourth I months so -- first time was all of the junior park so I think parks are tighter budget is that it -- little seven years in general and kind of names that are happening and to -- knowledge in southern Italian restaurant big emphasis on twelve different kinds of -- pasta. And then the tax base I -- appalled if he threats are really the first be involved in each and Austin and others. Five or six and there'll also missed the green it trend and that. We're kind of thought to be part of that and then Chavez. You know we partnered with the folks at the Radisson. -- contests. I mean for those you articulate and Austin any period tie their ads since the third global as the telephone but I don't know if there is sixty's yeah that congress got student Austin and a bit of threats. And air that they are putting a just begin this kind of money into redoing the entire hotel. Yeah you'll recognize outside inside to get -- they are just they're trying to think it's a whole other level and part of that process. Was putting it and it. You know the beautiful new bull new restaurant chef and restaurant. So along with the restaurant we're doing different surface the banquets -- much better. Were running that we're doing -- bit of -- in the hotel with them and it's been an amazing experience is a beast to triple the number employees that we're now overseeing stoked. Why -- and senior restaurant that's a whole different deal and what to -- before yeah. And they just been wonderful I mean it's apparent support of not only just supported that emotionally but financially meaning. You know did you something look that would accompany this -- we can do almost whatever you want but don't you want this kind of table you knows how to play. It's here it's. So while it's a beautiful beautiful space Michaels who designed it his name is on those in the debate are we take your country we'll -- -- -- it's a beautiful stand so. It's a southwestern -- and people say what does that mean I cannot tell you we do not have shifting based on the menus. I don't. I don't you love guacamole ride because we're not try -- trying to change lives that I thought I and this is about as -- makes his you're gonna get what do South Carolina -- would say anything between here in Mexico what we -- a beating here things that are native to this area locked after his. Citrus fruits they grow in this area. I grilled meats. You know mulling a blot out all these things so I'm -- -- -- with because you're neighbors were probably Hispanic or even you know grew up. You know in the valley are you grew up you know political whatever is that things -- -- -- here at Texas so what southwestern us is what we know here. It like all of our restaurants. Really restarting office plus the -- here. And it and it kind of it aside as what we do at all restaurants as we don't have 35 ingredients and each -- we just take or five and we put them perfectly and I miss challenged really -- hallmark is everything's made local are brought in local made in house daily. I did not make the second in Great Britain -- I made it. And it restaurant aren't that good -- that I write once again -- -- assemble. Did you enjoy this service you're welcome but if you like if -- -- yeah. That's not up. So what the concept poor shot past aside from being a southwestern -- well with the big deal that's your guilt contacting restaurants and your expertise well. I mean again at the range having again Sean I I always that might think I helped him he is that you suggest an owner and operator and he. I consider myself a facilitator in him that idea I unions' idea what's done and that's my job to do it. And or you know to best -- can he still does look most of the work I mean that's why he's the man. But. We you know there's a there's a dozen statehouses downtown. Park side it was the first gastric but now there's a dozen places doing modern American beauty and atmosphere. You know Anders I -- Tex mex restaurants ubiquitous you know. So what you know we did a little bit different in the big thing was shot as is it overlooks the lake and that they tell congress bats. You know and all that and so the whole -- as anybody what is the space yet and hasn't made it happen. Florida ceiling windows overlooking the -- while it's like here -- -- standing on top of the -- -- just. She's beatable but I'm not a lot of other restaurants in Austin diet parks and better poolside no that's just got -- Not realizable cited Italy excited when yeah if you -- -- also begin for a long time millimeter by tears on match or making traffic bad mouth back I'm sorry but I. But you know everything built at a late thirty years ago was facing away from the lake the lake was ugly you know -- -- and -- -- so look at the Lincoln become a force attraction and so all these you know people are scrambling to have things with a view facing the -- Bryant thing all the hotels that are on the plate. Currently don't have is simply. So where the first to do that -- banquet space in a restaurant and actually takes advantage of beating out there so tell us about the the atmosphere -- Like older restaurants I think the service is great personal to -- there's no every ingredient that are extremely friendly. But you need is not -- beginning and remain there is very relaxed not a very open space. I mean everything you think about Austin and people that you meet in Austin. I think our service is an extension -- keep in mind we're serving a lot of tourists and hotel -- right now. Just like we always work Arcsight which the best hotels would feed us for years before the locals found out about it since for a Algeria and on and Chavez is is it's you know. I think a really good representation of Austin as far as -- personality of service and but still laid back it means T shirt or Tutsi ethnic does not allow restaurants gas -- good. So we're talk a little bit about unexpected changes in hand down my wanna brag on you for a little bit here and we you know does. Doing a radio show takes a lot of coordination and arranging guests and and putting those those. The end -- -- schedule together. And then sometimes things just happen. Especially in the restaurant business and. -- stepped up to the place I think it was like 10 o'clock last night and I get a text message from man. No problem have a menu in the morning -- feed -- gotta take care and it's always great because I was I was I was on a I was having dinner with a colleague. Maybe it was a day I don't know if she knows that what I -- -- -- And John Maine now but I told a -- under protection -- like Stevie and his radio show and I'm not an excuse me babe I got a -- -- -- radiation and media solid. Yeah. I mean yeah. But there and other such a big fan -- -- so but yet -- -- -- not done this three times you guys whose parents did it. Absolutely -- lifesaver. Could still to be able to turn that around and that just shows. How quickly. You know being in the restaurant business is all about adopting SharePoint does this happen every day Iraq for I was today must be and multiple times a day and now that you're in a hotel I think you just answer that up. We'll just say one thing about that -- interest in about being in a restaurant is you know you have a customer for two hours. If they're completely -- -- and happy to by you don't need to be here you know there comes a point where you just say to customers not -- right sometimes or not I don't need this kind of people. You know. Treat your staff -- where a you don't need to run your business that way that -- get -- and staying in here. Business for 72 hours moved announcer if their stakes over because even if it's not now I hate the beds they hate the ballet right got to lobby shop and -- Austin. And so you have to do what ever it takes you know even if they're being beyond. So it's really to the level customer service. Had to really dig up not just. -- definitely be gentle people they're wrong and -- there. Ali I'm right you're right here. You're kind of an ambassador now. -- Again as I -- adult years in adult said he didn't do it in hotels and you -- -- talking about like what those people have to deal with I mean if you had anybody works in hotels. It's amazing what in the street and with money and a variety program at our hats are off to the hotel industry. Yes I mean in -- in the Radisson particularly their whole concept is all about. Whatever it takes me to -- if you don't like the stay. Bill this conference site -- they don't care like they just want everyone to be at. Which is always been our trademark but they they really do it -- usually parting with them because they're just my main thing is get satisfaction says the -- Well speaking unhappy people. Tells little bit about the appetizer that we're happy here no yeah well it is just I'm keeping it simple they're gonna get more elaborate and has been more time in the break room after this a sister company like -- demonstration we know how to make guacamole and obviously obliges -- -- -- -- I think. The only thing here that's a curve ball that he did this is from Serrano pepper. But. Obviously you know prior and -- -- -- stuff but again given a simple give an example the chips are great and so much body -- and I -- great. Tony -- and so. Why would take a little bit of a break and then when we come back you know win but the I tell you what let's not. Wanna talk about the very first my time before we do that's where our -- -- art -- chips and guacamole. So daughter Steve you wanna share with our listeners. A little bit about is very first version of my toss we're gonna see several throughout BM. Which seat -- on people -- I we have RC don't think his daughter or where do -- had. A full surge actually. Back but eleven years ago which is when this came to life and then Don and I were on vacation -- heating and we were at this wonderful little Tiki bar. The -- ocean and and we had this wonderful my time fell in love with that and he said when we got back the states that that we go in search of that same wonderful experience that we had and we went from restaurant to restaurant and couldn't find anything that compared him. There are -- looking at all mixes on the market and just couldn't find anything that compared and we spent a year playing with ingredients and and after about a year we've perfected does that might tie in fact we think we've probably improved on the original at some point there. Like he had barely left out of myself. But. You know we started serving it at our parties and we started having requests to bring it to other people's parties and then people started saying you should sell hope that stuff. While at a course you know you get that terrorists by junior and cannot be done that -- -- so. -- reality. Well you know what it now. Now and we we'd try it out there -- is quite a few years Victoria the former -- me and we believed in then put everybody was on us so we saw about three years in Chicago having people tell us that -- Austin about seven years ago. Surrogate -- exact same stories and finally decided. Gotta go for there you know and so a year ago we found a manufacturer and started producing my Thai side just a couple of months ago. So then what we sampled with originally was a very traditional might Thailand's. It's uncertain of the -- dark brown. What's unique about our mixes that is 88% producers artificial. You know flavors is our schedules -- now here's an idea right you can pronounce the ending -- ends and unlike everything else doesn't just like he's got temples and and it's just fruit juices. But because of the fact that purchases are so high content and because of the fact there's so many of them and it's kind of a complex mixture needed. Blends well with everything so we started with a very traditional. My tie with Myers dark brown and then we've progressed to a local the stellar quite -- wrong. Two. Arrests there -- and oak barrels for ninety days which gives it up and -- wolf flavor which is a very very unique. So I'm a little donkey farm in Maine I'm not. Yes they did a little -- firemen -- manner actually yeah. -- then there. Yes Amanda and you know White House from the front of the show that on many times before so I guess we're just trying to just keep it local here tonight we'll -- did we are indeed not. So that's what we've been sampling so far and that's the show goes on we've got us through the variations that there were and try something -- quite a bit unusual -- What typically is a my Timex but a -- mutant traditionally what we're doing is moving away from. Blood category in the labeling of my tie and in removing and assuming we're gonna be calling tropical. Fusion as we move Lewis and now he's Lance Barrow in Canada are big prize there. To go into breaks you're gonna know what tropical fusion -- you're gonna stay tuned to -- that she said radio. We'll be right back we're gonna pay a couple of bills and we're gonna come back and -- my -- coxnews. Talk a little bit designs and I got -- got home was designed in the studio we'll be right all right. I think what we -- party don't always do an umbrella Maarty Leunen a good -- I thought I may have missed. My guys any which way to my tie is I mean I know there -- summoning my times yet. My tie my time. I think that's the trap of fusion comes on and yeah we're gonna talk about that too right -- the quantity that would still living by design. And we have our guests in the studio with tonight is Heather and stock market niche. Heather Scott home and design. It's not so Scott you don't look that's a little bit on break about the quandary that you find yourself in -- -- got home and design. People running the country you -- -- is -- Scott and clearly and when she's on death. She's on television -- only producer Heather Scott Downs and it's a good Ryan good ring and then you know the last -- Czechoslovakian so it's a harder -- images -- her -- by an answer -- did you start Ryan yeah I got I got it got he got me covered -- and I had to and I Garcia. -- -- -- I am now and it did it was funny -- naming convention came about. When we started thinking about this about ten years ago when we -- corporate America we sat down and we came up with what we thought -- -- really define good names for their home in design stores. And we -- Heather Scott -- a sort of a fun one to friends and family this just revoked and and it came back about 90% of them said that was their favorite name. So we sort of put it is a joke but then it turned out to really properly. What we ended up being and we took their advice for a who were glad that we did right so what where they are so worthy contender. Gallery once it -- -- walk right now yeah now honestly I did what my neighbors. Yeah. I thought this. Now they are really traditional Honda Accord names like -- bell or you get those type of thing I had an -- we every mission really having our name on the building or once we. Did. -- -- So. You talk a little bit about you know your growth in corporate America and so Hannity comes to be that you want that you ended up in the design. And home furnishings that's correct so yeah there's a there's a long story to that that since we only have seven hours tonight to talk about half a lot of my time and I -- Out and -- -- will listen to the abbreviated version is we were both working corporate and -- enjoyed our careers and we had to -- she lives in both coasts in the US and in England for a few years. But we both had come back from trips -- come back from I think England on a trip and -- come back from Korea on a trip and we we think we joke about -- it was like a Wednesday night and we looked across the dining table each other and said we're just done I mean corporate America's done -- Turkeys in the -- the little red button -- Bryant we wish we had my ties to help -- and I do we do I am sad and pass it literally from that night to we we were we sold our house in California packed and moved everything retired from -- corporate jobs and were living in Austin, Texas in about four months time files so that begs the question why Austin. Right. How well we a lot of research is kind of fun having the map of the country in this saying Harry -- yeah. Yeah that's totally what we did not really long summer vacation yeah. Scott put in a plug survey is tonight -- Charleston and then me nervous and one not one I think Austin was again compromise them we did a lottery surged on. What cities are growing what cities are friendly to local businesses and where is the tax situation bid our residents and and business owners and hand them women to dostum recent hitting governments here in the universities here is Amy really healthy city for us ten base out of. And I think -- on top of that I mean you you hear the slogan all the time keep Austin weird right. And that's that's certainly a really cool drop especially for you know if you're out west and you know familiar with the chair Texas but. For us it was so supportive of local business dam and small you know mom and pop owned it for if you're starting my -- company or your opening restaurants -- your doing -- home design business. -- though the parties appear tonight I think clearly it's the best city in the country to try and started business and. -- yes definitely and I'm break we're talking a little bit about that I think. Probably most of this in the room with -- I know Scott you're definitely not in the group you were born in the lighting I was born in the what. -- -- time and energy an anti business restaurant. Friday and -- maybe you two today in the restaurant business. That down I narrowed -- I don't yeah. Always comes with a great depth and did -- professionalism -- -- -- -- -- Steve I know Don I know myself and and veterans got it all came out of corporate America and then you know we kind of did our thing. And and where. Getting to the -- that's really running to follow our passion. Took us a little while to find what it is nice but now we're here. So in the world does not design and especially -- now combined design and retail it is filled with unexpected changes. How do you handle those in your business and -- anything easy if any any good stories we're all about that story that was like -- Stories well I don't know I have been I have I'm a practical story I guess in dealing with -- and how will we started our business we were -- in toward retail and I I -- law will have a couple people come in a month and say they won some home design services and that's what I'll do. So we geared up for retail and and couple years into it and we realize how much growth potential -- was on the design side and silly pretty much had to flip -- our entire business as we've added people -- at a designers we've added staff to support the design business. It's just sort of scene where opportunities are where the business is -- playing and then adjusting to that verses saying no no orders or retail store and this is how we get parent. And how did you come into that Heather had -- come into the design business. Well -- and it asked it to me along time to get there you know that kind of finding your passion your -- My undergraduate degree wasn't fine arts so he's had an interest and design an arts beans and ended up in the corporate world after I got my MBA and and realize that I was missing some of the creative talent senator. While I was working I went to school in the evening for interior design just as a fun. Kind of Fino let me take a hobby -- and I was trying to -- -- I so this is what I meant to me. Terms Scott Kelly -- to have his own business and and has a degree and retail management and and we just there I can ride him perfect quietly put these the other islands. That yeah. So. So they got out of the box they got out of the body got out of the box I think that oh we broke out they throw it right out -- climb out -- -- outfit out of the prize she you know and I. And not involved and interest on it all the come from a decline Stanley my family in the northeast owns -- designers work -- come and I would always I mean -- had. Talk to my dad and he would it deals with designers -- the designers all the time. And he would always say that the best designers are born with. They can go and get their credentials and it -- -- in the best designers the ones that he had the most respect for. Were born knowing how to put a room together -- you really know how to put. The -- yeah. I think it got into giving as we get a lot of applications a lot of interests and I have come to realize nation that either studying it in school or those kind of things. That's nice to have on your resume right but at eight I believe you really are just born that talent and you either have that artistic capability now ID thing. 90% of the business is business and 10% is design that city business skills as well but. He kind of have that skill it's great if he had not pertaining DT development -- with the current. So when eight year visiting with either a design client or somebody who Watson to -- share a room. How do you identify where -- -- style and what they're looking for and and find out how to achieve create that look. That you know and we'll talk about some of the projects that we worked on together. But then when they walk in a room how you make room just feel good news -- as opposed to look good yet and what that is the livable yeah. Well I think I -- we get a lot of people on Aniston and -- that and web SID Mark Foley is because a lot of people coming to this door or calling for design services and party looked at our website -- -- and and that's one of the first questions we -- Simmons have you looked at her portfolio website so. If they've seen are style which I think is very unique in Austin and -- is -- sake it's serene but it's also very comfortable -- approachable so it's not hands it's not really show you Ernie and so. You say the people that are shopping in the retail store or that are looking for design services. Kind of know what they're getting into new labor they reach out to us and say could you help us make our home look like your store -- So how did you come up would -- your -- your design I mean was it just years of doing it and I finally -- -- -- You cultivate here I may over time you say no I mean I have read home magazines for years sure none and always torn on the pages and some more experience she and the more you refine that and people's tastes change over time. My cell -- a -- -- developed from. Living in California now with that has still look also living in near -- on the East Coast and then. A lot of time in the south as well which time -- people from the south really invest a lot in their hound her and they're proud of having them look good and Sarah. I just kind of building all is -- different pieces make you who you are and what's your stylus and and you two -- neighbors. Right right I mean I can almost pick up a -- in the protesters who didn't partake yeah. And it's like throwing rocks and they live in a glass house. -- And waiting all night yeah. -- it's it's a great point -- -- turn your question about how do you -- you know when you ask rather about heaven if you're born with that kind of talent or not and I think that's really critical. You know when we the building that -- and not just across the street from lighting into you know more -- it's when we. Approach the owners of that building to secure that building it was and I used auto body hair show and it was in a real state of disarray if you will because just lost a -- Scott yeah I was it was a medal -- that building that I couldn't stand there in the parking lot and see what -- look like when we were going to be finished with that that one Heather got out she said. The bones of the building your perfect we just need to strip -- -- society and and make it come to life. And I think what you deal with -- you're dealing with beverages or whatever it is I mean if you have somebody who's got the talent for the mixtures of ingredients. That's just what it takes to make some fantastic and it's pretty it's pretty fun to see your work and see that capability. That is against because I'm nine have friends that are designers and they'll go into a house or rumor something like that. And I'll be looked him like no you know -- like yeah oh I see it I really easily get an email like you know he's he thanks -- Yeah well you yeah. Back in red flag wow. He sees throwing rocks as Ingrassia -- the I thought our talent and yeah yeah yeah. Everybody hello I keep her only have questions about our checks and -- you know to partisans on and that's not so that's not my talent so it's a good thing we all have different capabilities. They all bring something to the card industry now I have to ask real Clinton is your house. Like a magazine or is it like you know like a plumber has the worst climbing out she may -- -- right yeah. Because you how many like I don't wanna do that I did that all day it happens it. And now it is and our house is very neat ideas we put together there's not clutter site and a foam around the Delaware and -- We will not show up -- you know I. I do the clean so I notably spotless. Wow did you make it all the guys that -- yeah I do the cleaning shop. I I think the only difference is in my home I'm done a lot more neutral because it -- so many colors and patterns or acting dead tired easily. -- a lot of blue and green her hands -- b.s you know this -- a lot more -- -- -- -- for me home to have the you know kind of a -- -- And that can compromise he -- -- we still have to take an accountant who lives in the home and what their tastes are. Well everything -- top prize I mean it is you know you deal with husbands and wives he has not just the wise it's the husband he comes in usually. Towards the end he comes in and he's like I don't know about -- you've got to Mary. How we did regularly yeah. Yeah that's true I have a room in our house the -- -- night that -- -- the ladies always get these huge -- Gannon closets and then we get the little broom closet and all are so it is kind of piled -- And that's why we thought he said she's -- Yeah. We originally brought the -- -- my -- because again we we love the night I can't stick handled the story of why we developed it but as we brought it out and we where. Doing tastings with essentially the same restaurant. We sure can't. -- -- started to say I would fifties like with podcast what but it is likely -- what would it taste like with tequila. My guess you know and we just always mixed with front. So sadly we had good experimentation. And it's Canada it's hard aren't aren't you can't count on any of us would surely I don't know I'm not. I think we're ready we're earlier if he just beat. Yeah. And yeah. Snow on the and so things that that we really wanted to make sure it was that the integrity of this product was they're beaten so we -- gonna say to people hang it mixes with this that it didn't means oh. So we wouldn't bring it home and we would taste it and then we wouldn't take it out literally to. -- testing that -- people forty people from now we know we can have more doctor yeah I don't. And we had other things in this in the knicks no pun intended nineteen. 120 joining joining trying to get money keep it yeah -- -- but I'm sell some products to follow but the amazing thing about this as I was saying is it can be -- Wouldn't run. Tonight I can be served with tequila as -- I island inspired Margarita Sunday's. Warm and most of with with champagne. So it's just incredibly versatile so we're just really as we talked about it in restaurants and on the radio win. And Margaret we're really saying it is this very tropical you can drink that it just really blends incredibly well. With so many different spirits and you never know you could be able to enjoy it poolside at -- is right. And yeah absolutely. I. That's when he -- yeah. I thought we knew we had to get you eventually got kind of summarizes -- it needs a redesigned -- I'm sure on the interior and. During your I don't know -- -- daily news out of. So. In this new. Sit back and -- listeners a little bit about. The dish that we just cases yes. OK very good dish there yet -- now we're doggone it is nobody another appetizer this is so that's the big party does so this is a bride must like eight months says that. Cornmeal flour and they used to make him tortilla so it's a little tried not to take stuffed with. With -- hours opposed to making a mark -- of lemon -- lime juice and people coming but I can take out outtakes out -- -- which is a compliment. And we had that first drink it has like I'm drinking fruit juice out in the end I sort of feel warm and maybe get. And it's. Not -- -- and I really look at an. And everything that they learn -- do we. And then there was cork in his open. Can't begin to -- McCain funny it's. Did you I mean look it's going to be in front of the microphone a lot of pleasant looking only for a day hey yeah. I don't -- I think you're -- you're touching on the tigers born what day and it's so true exit -- kitchen what Sean come out of the menu item and about thirty seconds. You know -- like you know it just needs a little Lima Disney's is one ingredient I I would never think of that because I'm just not inclined that way. And you know each year got -- down and it reports enough to make a living out of but -- eightieth and him you know trying to absolute my size my -- yeah. Well compliments complements Arlen though on the not on the presentation at the fact that it's a finger food. And without a television camera being in here knowing casinos all eating when her hands right now but doesn't figure that's for 94. There's always wind. I won't pick it up with a three. And so one of the the neat things and I was looking at the Chavez menu is you included -- bar. Blood is yet unexpected surprise well you know we will -- we want it just last. You know. Patronize I guess I kind of just doing the same thing in every -- been. John's real haul market parts like west of all are we want to carry that over every -- probably done not discuss what's the fact that it's not an animal. But -- I mean there at the -- -- kind of was we were the first to do that he's not cattle -- Charlie has overall partly spears and everything and so we continue that match up perspectives of each English people love so much. May or may not know it is the park site to be -- only crossover we haven't any of our restaurants you know relatives Indonesia China coming -- things you've been -- site. I don't know but yeah. In that's just best economists think he's great at it. So how what is V resident in a hotel and now having to do breakfast lunch and dinner at a senate Specter dynamic. Well I now finally at thirty usually three meals a day are Iraq. -- mother so happy content back us now and routine you have. You know our restaurants have been historically generally you know so. It's -- have to manage your time completely differently clearly there Telus team that IBM every day for some months you know English but at midnight kind of putting it altogether. Any just east club more staff missing a lot more people having hiring eighty people off the street. The staff restaurant -- while now. But generally restaurant takes thirty -- so. And getting everyone trained in the end yeah no that's -- and it really means for any weather beat generally are all three meals that they catch 22 about hiring for a new restaurant and you're looking for people who worried currently unemployed. Not unhappy at their current job more you know. Are on the way out of the -- you're dealing with people who are inherently a bit eighteen every restaurants like Italy Germany in the money have a good career right in judge -- The leap of faith into a new restaurant right so you'd usually it's really hard to find a high caliber. Staff -- on the first opening and we did we had we not one person -- the first month clear while I was Grammy. Even that we only one. I haven't had once they're acquitted sport have -- -- -- -- Canada that's -- -- it regrets it that's it that's and he. Have liked you know how places have not injured for nine -- Wednesday night. I don't know that I I don't think that's about zero mosque Thursday -- -- yeah but now that's. I know I know it every urge here in town affinia wearing and that's just part of it. We will very insurance B -- overstep its -- -- restaurants. Sony your head of the -- -- -- had to argue but now like hey we didn't need anyone listening once those come in and the and plot in injure themselves and I don't. Yeah yeah and an injured and absolutely and in the Turner's really well let me are higher -- and we hired -- first or eight months you know added Arcsight like it's just. But cook's always it's really hard for people who have to drive to understand that fifteen hour days equals becoming show on Wednesday. You have to see the big picture you have people to just start -- -- -- price -- fifteen dollars an hour that weren't that way no you know so. We're always good for his -- I'm 32 out of saint -- he stays with the senate. Now yeah. So I shutter is open end. Late January. February 1 -- and so a little bit about what what happens the. Really popular right summoning memories well what brought them thank you know -- I would just I don't know I imminent breakthrough might they were making cocktails and I was. Cooking and doing quotes right now and it's different. That. You wee bit of about four months who were actually change the whole -- menu items here this week just has now that things have kind of rest that you see what's popular what's not working as wells we thought an -- and a reminder we bring to this concept so. Most popular items are definitely all of our restaurants are the small plates the F million tons of it yes -- -- by things that each person in trying to -- you know. Beyond trades at every -- -- restaurants in many chefs and restaurants are evolving every week. So to say my favorite dishes halibut at a restaurant I can't -- say that these days in most restaurants municipality dish is gonna change it a week. So what are most popular items are the -- -- -- to small plates because those. Don't really changed much of the season they become staples right. That's her answer go to -- the small stuff. But -- order like five or six things that does donuts and -- and I'm not an activity different and everything. Tastes and have something different puzzles been more that way yeah. They have ordered -- -- I'm learning from the real -- I had till Saturday to fix this. Yeah. And I expect that. We'll plow the snow Tom well and part of. The date of the change in the menu has to do that. With what's local what's fresh what spin it's totally my have to always be salmon dish and every restaurant but -- the the components. That bring it together I mean you're not to have Brussels sprouts and additional to -- right now if the bitter restaurant has Brussels sprouts. -- in in July they get a mosque but you know dating dating and luckily and so you know there's just there's. Six months a year six weeks he can get it in color ramp which is a special green onions from friends and only grocery that time. Is so every restaurant has -- many in March every awesome restaurant anyway it's I digress you know the butternut squash. So let's watch out it's good enough episode bid that's how the -- is changes not that we're. Salmon goes out of season -- right. But how you put it together guys. Well and and provision things that are local. It is real important decision shocked then yeah and it's it's a very difficult when you think the talk about you know it's a buzz word everything's local. But you know these local farms. Their entire arm serves enough letters to make our salads were only a week. You know so is it is great for restaurant thirty seats to say -- -- local less greedy -- much more difficult. Pressed to make between our free restaurants -- thousand Caesar salads. A week. -- get off local farms there's -- I don't -- it is the nitty gritty that this suspenders they're brokers out there -- people that can help you source from the thousand local bars Internet or units. Because it's sheer scale of all of that -- some other possible -- you know I think -- 120 CP strode you don't do everything local you're not trying him. When you have you know. 500 seats between them -- restaurant just it's it's the burden. I mean not Burton that it exceeds -- abuse is being used now and he's availability and yeah. That way we're not in the game show yet he executes a growing not onside kick. Well and. Before we go to break there was an interesting story that Donna as the viewers sharing about the the rocks my time next. That customer that was coming in and ordering buying. Many models. The customer yeah sure let's do exactly that I mean that's just didn't fit in an interesting story in and a neat way to -- my -- Sure yet Steve Stephens Simon is actually he he chatted this gentleman. We do teasing between lenders and this gentlemen is coming back in he kept coming back in. And he was nine when I was weak and our paramedics and it was Steve is I'm sorry you're like. I don't know he's got a problem already and you didn't. We are hoping it was giving it -- again though. But we have these I'm not giving it away you know we've already you know created Soledad thinking Thompson hit on the market to -- And so about six new in the studio and. Opinion had a great thing is that they care debate parents say he is not big corporate they. It's so gramley you know they're like we care about people that higher product let me give you Betty Ford and for the. Yeah so don't back so I say it's tell us back. We all know that numbers -- important number zero and it turns out it. He was literally buying it took about four miles a week because he had discovered that yes in the evening and makes a great spirited drink but in the morning. Phoenix is it with club soda and his breakfast -- It is because we do care about are -- customers is 90%. I'm here vitamin C in one glass all right you're welcome -- you. Went for breakfast -- for dinner ready and your. The department they'll all have also -- -- and Health Department. -- I am getting the sign from our production staff that it's time to take a break right so we're gonna do that we're gonna pay a couple bills and when we come back it will be time to play the Mars vs the cool man already well under god we've got some players -- house I think so you listened to he said she said radio on talk radio thirteen seventy and we will be right back. Course in these -- brought to you by twin lakers celebrating 75 years with twenty Austin area locations. More on the web at twin lakers dot com. She said radio talk show us. His game show sponsored by California closets in the Texas hill country this is their. Beautiful downtown -- -- for Lamar when there's surprise behind every door. And now it's time to come out of the closet and play. The Mars vs. All. Right now so yeah this and this is bigger part of this. Believe it's not -- -- I'd love talking with the people and finding out what's going on. But I do love things you do of the games I do yeah it's what keeps coming back over number. Tibetan and cocktails as well as well demise ties in the. The -- Well this is a treat for me yes because why because I'll. Haitian players wanting to view video always say that like you're all by yourself. I love was always. Well I do now. -- three on break. Jeff -- the little amend certain -- play in an idea yeah. About three feet theory yeah. All right hey bring -- down lady Karen Karen forgot to mention that there are actually it's the three against forcible ladies have a small disadvantage there against -- Isn't on their 40 and yeah. They're right. Honest officer I have no -- now. Yeah. Yeah yeah. I got it yeah the Magnificent Seven remember he had an up or you can sit there and Chicago Illinois parents said. The -- blessed you the Internet. Apparently apparently the take us right down a glimpse of Zell who -- Karen knew -- the underdog she said nation policy and just get there one -- -- Who are you no matter -- Don't know how to can be true they won last two weeks generally did. So the gentleman will go first the rules of the game are there a six questions we go in rotation gentlemen we'll go first. If we have a tiebreaker need to get a toddler girl explained those rules so again this is a team effort with a consensus so I guess will make a final decision. And if you get a right answer. Are responsible sound like this you. -- -- That's all right all right I know -- and I don't think he's planning. He is accepting another award or if you get it wrong the handle the truth and that Scott Daley's favorite song. I did not -- R&R I ever had so gentlemen you get to go first one through six. And it's whichever when you pick is -- the -- -- -- -- -- Number four who fourth floor that was purposeful and teaching -- variety. Number four gentlemen rooftop farms are becoming great local produce suppliers. Which of these has has bought into it in a big way and has a very launch rooftop farm. Is it OK GB Safeway or whole foods. Q has the largest rooftop farm league team being. -- -- haven't seen a safe claimed Tuesday yeah. Yeah I mean rentals Randall's this Randall's here. But I don't -- emotional you know I don't think Randall has the rooftop. Pretty easily answerable to these guys are putting sand through sensible victory TV -- all the -- -- generator Bertelsmann probably would -- So it's it sometimes it is obvious it's sometimes not sometimes you don't realize there. I was down. Members of the drink lazy kind of I just -- out. -- well -- love -- so hard to -- series again is that what you did obviously not IDs how you doing. I sort of like the obvious to me no Olson's got a pretty big presence in the game where does go lawyers both soon whole foods is it now and hope to. Well then the answer is -- Yeah. -- -- Yeah that's that's good to be obvious and so it is obvious hints at this time last night you weren't obvious. You gotta be obvious obvious. So whole foods has a 20000 square foot rooftop farm in Brooklyn on top of their own their store so yes there is a true growing him Brooklyn. So gentlemen you are off to a fast start. It's your turn to -- can match wits with the gentleman. How Zocor has been taken having -- a big first. Number three number three -- Variety. I thought we know. Little bit assigning extra passing real for NASA engineers you. All right now -- -- to the man behind the all right since -- have been doing this that this is an homage to the people who been serving up cocktails all night long so lives. So some remains tropical drinks like my time which is Apollo missions for simply the best round of the but legend has it been at Texas boy created this set his bar. Don't you think and sombrero and let's do we think my time mogul -- and my time and killing my time up until my business card now yeah. -- TM yeah. You know it's it's so interesting because in all he -- -- and looked -- it's never come up that either one of those at Texas a M that's why we wrote this question. Thank you -- -- OK Ali yeah it -- tame I added that the only way to make that -- is only one or -- -- this show we only have an -- important. And we got him into auto and we if. All right ladies come from behind what are we doing so to read and more heartache that's correct. Also. I know it's good for number one. Parents take in the lead -- we aren't you kind of big night. The ladies still list from one of the other people in the studio but here we go. And it's it's sort of an homage to let him Chavez again. Didn't you get in 2014. The president of the United States proclaimed Cesar Chavez day saying every job has dignity of every life has value. And speaking with one voice will build a better world. Wind is Cesar Chavez day is it march April Laura made. How you have to make them did the date team. I know we as a as a -- it's not -- There's something about how we do. And do it on a single that I don't have and then I don't already taken him. I think it's -- -- you do that that is is and she said can. License yeah. We have mark. No margin partially -- Osiris god likes to bring his shovel to this show and I thought maybe -- was there. I don't have any idea. An idea. Many don't help them out even going and -- -- Mark Harmon Dennis because you know the restaurants. Listening to it. But that's actually categorically untrue and. I didn't wanna put it squarely on his show yeah. Yeah but the. I don't think yeah I don't think it's match. Think it's they -- -- I mean we just we just -- you -- -- -- -- here about Cesar Chavez announced. Just fine -- we've also been through march and April. It's vehicle and I'm feeling better member Goodman Steve I. -- might tighten may still fresh in my and I have. We have. -- -- I don't know I guess march and the Salinas is that the ABM needed to lead us we think that little people. And our triple -- -- -- -- so I mean we're just gonna discuss differences consensus. I get a sim card trick play and why not look at a hard time. I'm not wow other -- and I was leading to go. -- RTC is doing a lot of okay guys let's go march and may mean I. Soon have retreated one -- What happened was is it was march 31 so what happened was it got kind of snowed under by the health care and timeline day. But did to that I just wanna say that Chavez is amazing I'm -- American restaurant a lady bird linking a similar fashion supports local ranchers and farmers to grow -- Austin community and the unemployment. And the shame here on press for every menu I need to negotiate so it's fair to the people who. -- until Saturday to clean that up with let's head down there now. So the score is 11 gentlemen you have the last question. We didn't do you need to you need to pull out there -- you do mar -- to moreover you need to get this one right up. And mustang and number of five or six what if they don't get there is -- No notes and within 11. Yeah some great news didn't -- a very I know I'm still -- I knew what does not run in six and nothing but yeah. I'm tired but now. Right you can find is that what did you. It's over number five -- tornado -- tornadoes seem to like rush hour on average they occur about. Around 5 PM. That -- the wind speed of a 135 miles per row which category is it Dorothy is it category three for a five. Both -- five is not -- and it's not for now says her injury. 3COM good thing. And we mean I don't really listen food and emergency food and complex Conway didn't practice. -- whole -- -- trains -- decision yeah again only about five how. And we did it. I'm positive yet we're -- you know I'm yeah. I don't mind waiting guys got. So right now ladies should you need to you need to answer this question correctly you -- Jerry game and in your a game we got it you are so -- -- else. I would think I don't know all right so ladies pork projects where the beginnings of interior design. Two women have truly broken the glass ceiling and interior design. What percentage of US interior designers are women how is it com. There's not a woman responds. I'm -- I didn't know who was responding to different giant that was our call in Canada -- Cullen is it over 55%. Over 60% or over 65%. From president. -- interior design concerns that our interior designing stuff. -- interior designers she's picked him that question are planning to cut out again. I -- the highest percentage of her son 556. What was it 505560. And 65. I'm in Edinburgh -- residents designer here at all I think so we'll move movement. And -- yeah. I really don't know that he -- get a kick trader Vic yeah. Right I think he's playing on both teams and a hint there. Part -- on the radio in the. All right do we have a -- -- yeah a lot of women and here is there's -- have an opinion -- She has no opinion it. -- -- -- -- It's your show it's called it's called and she says are not the. Apparently so fast and I don't research department -- if you think that is the imagine it does not. Patrick team nine times you really get him to do all the answers now. I would be shocked if it's not 65 but the numbers can sing anything so. There should go another infant. I rainy day it's like all right well -- Oh you did pull out until now we have a tie we haven't gotten all of the tiebreaker right center and get ready so the gentlemen this is the way this -- what do we have. So drink got one more time this guy ever trust me it's about the same joke about the Mike -- -- could actually like I'm not doing now is there was no joke -- I was actually just curious abroad in the. Actual number. Of seem hell interior designer 69%.
