Helps promote 300 different enzymes in the body you should care about sink without think. Your hormones won't work even if you hormone levels look normal we're going to be talking about zinc. Tumor. And vitamin B one how it relates to Bayreuth and fatigue. And even fibromyalgia. So that shows on -- to -- vitamin B one. And stay tuned it's gonna be really good show. Also I'm excited to let you know that I've put together a new breast health protocol based on. Cutting edge work of one of my mentors doctor Jonathan Wright was the father of bio identical hormones we come on the show just a week or so ago. And he has come out with a new protocol. That actually by eating a certain food and applying tactically. Certain nutrients in a very specific way can help create a brand new compound in your -- that. Causes breast cancer cells to die. Promotes breast cancer cell what's called a popped -- that's cellular death. So by eating this food and putting on this topical lotion. You can protect. Any breast cancer cells that form in your press T even uses this protocol. On women who are in the middle of battling disease. So you're going to want to know what to do to protect your -- as you age especially if you are on hormone replacement therapy. Or if you are right in the moment of facing a big health. So if your interest in signing up for the breast health protocol. You can email and yet. Gmail.com and you can get on and you can also get a free chapter on how your man can make you happy so. We are back to talking about zinc. Zinc has really been in the news in the last year so there have been a lot of information and studies coming out on sink because even though. It's deficiency was only recognized in 1963. Over the past fifty years. It's become apparent that to be really healthy person. You've got to have a robust. Healthy levels of zinc. In fact. It's estimated that two billion people in the developing world don't have. Enough to sink in part of the reason. It's a lot of people in the developing world rely mostly on cereal proteins for their food cereal proteins are very high. In a molecule that can bind up sink and make it hard for the body to use that those are called fight Tate's. So. Zinc is being related to so many health benefits one. 300 different enzymes. Requires seem to be activated and you're not gonna believe this but 2000. Transcription factors requires -- Their jeans to work you know what I hormone does or -- transmitter does. Is it swims on interceptor. Which delivers. A message to the gene which is then turned on -- off. And that's how things work that are bad in your body. Genes being turned on or off that's called gene transcription. Unique zinc for over 2000. Transcription factors. Every single sex steroid hormone and thyroid an adrenaline insulin. Swim on it into service sector and they want to bind with what's called the DNA. Binding domain if that -- sector that's how you're gonna have. Thought that's how your young teenage daughter's gonna by the breast that's how you're going to. Help regulate your sugar is when that hormone. Can swim on into that -- sector. And gain access to the DNA. Have a -- -- opposite should be but for the way that hormone. Gets attached and that the DNA is the DNA binding domain of monstrous actors have to Adams is zinc. Think and it forms -- shape looks a lot as a fold of mineral. A full of zinc atoms. That looked a little bit like the shape of -- Anger like that that heart of the interceptor is curling its finger toward the hormone going to come here come here. That old song how many ways are there to lead your lover it's kind of like how many ways are there to get your hormone to come on in the -- come here deliver your email to me. Well it needs zinc. To do that that's why it's sad that. 2000 transcription factors requires think. Think it's necessary. For a great immune system if you deficient in -- you have a lot more tendencies to infections. Anytime you -- recurrent infections you wanna consider might I'd be. Deficient in sync and you need stomach acid. To reduce -- out of food. To the proper -- state to be able to use it to sometimes. It is a cascade of that why you're low instinct -- just that your eating. -- cereals or. Not enough zinc rich foods you're not doing such a great. Shot of digesting foods that needs stomach acid to mixing could sort. Most people aren't aware of this -- sync is an effective antioxidant. And that you deal is. It's an anti. Inflammatory. Agent we all know now that much of disease. Localized to systemic we think starts as a cascade of under control inflammation. Now there's some good inflammation in the body but we say inflammation is at the epicenter of disease. Were saying it's excessive too much it's out of control it's excessive inflammation and -- Is and there are many other factors it's not the only one that's zinc helps kind of hand that down. Think has been used for the treatment of a wide variety of things from acute diarrhea in infants and children to the common cold. Two with -- disease called Wilson's disease. Which is due to a buildup of copper to sickle cell disease. And even then we need enough to -- as we move. Into our middle an -- years. To prevent blindness. With age related. Matches -- degeneration. So I think is a big deal and human health. And we need to make sure that we have enough that an article that came out recently. Was showing that. Zinc deficient deficiency is really common in psychiatric disorders. And it's very common. In low thyroid. And it's very common in depression. We'll all that makes sense because. If you have neuro transmitters that are out of balance -- much more risk of mood disorders and you need zinc to be able to have those neural transmitters delivered those signals. Bayreuth. Or thyroid to deliberate signal remember that little finger come here thyroid can -- -- T three trial of irony in c'mon in and deliver your signal. So we're discovering. That's zinc deficiency is common. Mounting evidence is showing a link between most think depression but it makes sense because we know there's more depression a midlife when your hormones are down. And if you don't have enough to sink even if you hormone levels look normal. They can't deliver that signal to the DNA binding domain to turn the right -- on the right time turned LeBron jeans off at the right time. So. And data is now being greatly. Gathered to show that inadequate -- is linked to Psycho geriatric patients. All across the country and you know. As -- age. The pride of cells that make -- that sit create hydrogen on ions into our stomach -- inside of our stomach. They really age too so. That did this and see -- stomach acid increases is BH and they say that. -- sixty's about 70% of us don't make enough stomach acid I remember you need that to make -- you don't have enough -- -- much more prone to not feeling so hot being -- moody. -- -- -- -- There's an article that just came out really recently about -- efficiency. And using it as a therapy. To treat. Alzheimer's disease. Because it looks like. I mean this is the data that's been coming out for a few years there's many different proposed theories of alzheimer's disease but some of them are the build -- of minerals in our brain that shouldn't be there especially iron and copper. Give too much iron and copper you get tangling tell fibers the big TT syndrome and it's not the low T syndrome a we know the -- T -- -- does duster and that the TT syndrome would be. How it tangles. And is there's excess. Iron copper in the brain you can have -- came close which is one of this. Brain changes that occur. Linked to cognitive decline. And we are in the we are in the midst of an epidemic of alzheimer's disease in developed countries. And part of it has been theorized to be a buildup of copper from drinking water and from iron from taking too many pills and multi vitamins with iron and it. Any suggestion of -- copper can raise the blood free copper level and it can go into the brain and cause he's fibers to tangle. And the same thing with iron but if they give zinc. This can read do some of that TT syndrome. Tangling of the top 5% you really wanna know if you get enough sink because you want to protect. Your brain. In fact in November. Of just a few months ago in -- pharmacology. They came out with an article. Where they took a look at neuro protective and cognitive enhancing effects of food and animal models. So they gave animals different diets to see what would happen to their brain. And they were able to find that if you gave animals. On zinc. And Kirk -- it. And melatonin an essential fatty acids and other things that week health through people say you're a good thing to do that there was less damage to their brain. And in particular sync was very protective. Of the brain. Now if you hold on Austin we're gonna come back and talk about. Kirk human we're gonna talk about vitamin B one might call you should know about that especially people who are out there who'd been diagnosed with high vote. Thyroid isn't so. Welcome back Austin we're talking about minerals like think. And herbs like to -- and we're gonna be going very shortly to eight. Vitamin B one. And you're gonna learn about how all of these nutrients are important to make sure that -- at good levels within you know one of the ways you can test to see. And it's -- suggested screening test that you go over to people source -- you can buy by meta Jennings a bottle of liquid thing called sync tally. And -- tally is actually zinc sulfate. But it's a liquid form. And if you take about an ounce of that and swish it around in your mouth for fifteen seconds. You should be able to have a very. Just tasteful. Metallic -- free taste. If you can't identify bad taste or taste like water TU. That suggested that being low in sync because zinc when it's sufficient and your body will help your taste buds. Experience the flavor. On that sulfur and that medal in fact this week age a lot of times elderly people lose their taste. And one of the reasons is they don't make enough stomach after they become. -- and minerals like saying. And then -- Lose the ability -- acuity. Of their taste it's the other music you start to. Supplement with -- It's important to take it with a proper ratio of copper easily begin thinking about thirty milligrams and a tablet. And then you wanna have one or two milligrams of copper combined with that a musher battling alzheimer's cognitive decline. Aren't accessed copper disease but usually it should come with -- tiny bit of copper. And in the olden days I've been in practice almost forty years in the olden days stocks used to give people. Copper thirty milligrams three times today. Or keep upping the dose until they got nauseated. Is when you take. More cop more -- excuse me we take more zinc and you need. It -- distinct. Nausea which is reversible goes right away and then they would back off from that dosage what we don't need to do that. But the take home of that. -- if you decide to put yourself on some zinc supplementation. If you take more than you need you'll feel nausea. Not seriousness and that's why and if you back off from the dosage it'll go away. A lot of people say oh well you know I take a multi vitamin and mineral I get in -- look at the bottle here. It says it's got five or ten or maybe even twelve mill milligrams of sync. But keep in mind. That whatever supplement you take. In the most ideal of conditions at your gut is humming along you're only absorbing about ten to 15% of what you're swallowing. And usually if you're trying to reapply which means you're deficient in -- And you wanna take enough to -- to bring your levels back up to normal that's called the completion. Then just taking 152020. Milligrams in a multi isn't enough -- really -- for very very healthy people who do not have. Deficiencies. Boy could hardly get that -- -- -- -- -- a little bit in efficient China now. So those are some of the ins and outs of the interesting information about sync. On now let's talk about. And also in the studies what they found is Kurt Coleman is an incredible anti inflammatory. Neuro protective. -- a lot of people are taken. Tumor these days the basics spice that comes from India. That gives curry its flavor but I wanna tell you some of the shadow side of tumor that some of you might not know. Almost majority of all -- comes from India. And now I've had several patients that had very high lead levels. Substantiated by blood as well as here. And they had been on high dosages of tumor for the last few years and when we sent in the samples of the tumor to. Mineral biopsy -- They were elevated in let. It's really hard to get tumor. That isn't contaminated with flat. That's an issue. The other thing is. I did a lot of research on current humanoid a number of years back and I found some. Significant articles. Measuring gut flora health. In animal models and in humans. That have been taking granted large dosages of -- And in some susceptible people. To -- hand. Wallop. You've got Florida to here we all are trying to Canada Dixie yogurt taker Kim G. Really get a gut -- working well maybe even purchasing expensive to -- Pretty anti potential inflammatory effect. If you've had a history of inflammatory bowel disease -- -- issues or even. Just the functional durable while issues. You might wanna consider. Not being on a regular tumor but only using it at certain specific times or certain. Specific reasons. Or avoiding it altogether. Okay now we're talking about a new case report in sometimes in science. It isn't an epidemiological study or controlled trial but doctors will right up specific. Cases about patients because it's so interesting what they found. So just a few months ago in the fall of 2013 in the journal of alternative complementary medicine. I found very interesting article about Hashimoto spy right guidance. And it was a case report of three cases. And these people had Hashimoto is which is an autoimmune illness of the thyroid where the body starts attack that -- And the treatment that is to give people direct replacement although if you come to see me at the -- clinic. We go into more depth of why you got it and help your overall. Biological terrain improve. But often people will be treated they get chronic fatigue with Hashimoto's. And that is linked to the inflammatory. Autoimmune. Manifestation of the disease. But a lot of people even though they're on. Our direct replacement like levels I rocks in a regular doc might give her armor pyrite and integrated -- might give. They still did not feel well despite having normal thyroid function tests. Within healthy range once they were given hormone they just weren't getting their bang for their replacement -- So what these docs did was they put. These patients around Arab replacement hormone because of passion most motorists Byron died as they put them on diamond. They gave them 600 milligrams a day which is pretty high dose when he gave them time an ivy. And what they discovered. Was that by giving time and they could. Completely bring energy back to these people who are chronically fatigued. Now that really was fascinating to me I started looking in the literature. For other ways that Simon is being used to help patients. And because I -- use diamond series this typically. In my practice for years in this links up. With what we're gonna hear in a minute I was really excited I'm going to be connecting the dots I kind of think of myself as a 360 degree hormone authority unit connect. The doctor and this is going to be even a year this is the connected up with Simon -- first saw this trial. With people who didn't respond Byron -- replacement they were given high dose of one B vitamin. You know in the health world would like to always get that back -- B complex and you take one singular B. But then I found another study that came out pretty recently called Simon and fatigue an inflammatory bowel disease. And they basically showed. That when people have -- of clients -- Crohn's Disease. And they could even be. Other types of inflammatory bowel disease such as you -- current directory to lightness. Or as -- age to get a lot of loose stools you could have what's called infiltrating the Pacific colitis or call collection this collided so there's. Or five clumps of things he can have meaning the lining of your gut any which way you look at it is inflamed. And they found that there's a lot of fatigue that goes with these diseases. Due to the high level of inflammation. And -- pilot trial they treated a number of patients who sponsored of colitis and crohn's with high dose. Vitamin vitamin B one once again. And they found. That ten patients out of the twelve showed complete regression of fatigue they got their -- -- that. Just stunned -- one. And two patients showed and -- great improvement. On and then. They had chronic fatigue because of their autoimmune issues and then I started looking and lo and behold. There were studies in which diamond has been used to treat -- -- of chronic fatigue patient. I found another study with high dose -- This came out just a few months ago improves -- in multiple sclerosis patients well. -- the theme. A theme theme steamy here at all these patients. And it's a lot of auto immunity. An auto immunity the bodies attacking itself. And in the wake of that. Is inflammation. An inflammation -- -- And -- isolated cases granted their small. Their report to police stocks at least pilot trials where when they give large amounts of vitamin B one. Attempting down. The fatigue element of the illness well. For the last ten years or so I have noted that vitamin B one I found a number -- studies and Mikey could when I go to the library nice to look at the library now look at that met online. Vitamin B one. Helps heighten the junctures in the got lining. So that it helps treat leaky gut syndrome in just in the last two years we've seen like in the international journal of gastroenterology. We've been seeing. Leaky gut syndrome by several years precedes the manifestation of the subset of many autoimmune illnesses. So are these people getting an improvement in energy getting rid of their fatigue. Because the B one gives them energy where's the the sequel would be events that's part of the multiple sclerosis part of fibromyalgia part of Hashimoto Styron died as part of the inflammatory bowel disease now we're seeing a link between B one treating fatigue. In chronically ill and cooped -- patients. But I'm telling you that. I've seen a leak. Link between B one improving leaky gut. There's that infectious disease specialist in San Francisco doctor Christina green and she sends me a lot of patience and I've been using B one and many of her. Chronically ill patients and she wanted to see the data and why I was giving high dose -- one and I just had sent it off to her. Insecurity is in the last two years we're seeing leaky -- being linked. Too many of these issues so here's another article high dose Simon improves the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Living with fibromyalgia means living with chronic pain and when they gave high dose time and chronic fatigue. And when they gave high dose diamond. After the therapy with high doses of diamond there was an appreciable improvement. -- the fatigue and many other issues well this is really exciting this is the nutritional. Application. Of science this is really where nutrition is standing in front senator on the stage. -- -- able to take people who are responding to just the regular standard of care and Hashimoto is -- got this it's giving him direct replacement. But that's just giving one thing. What nutritionists and integrated -- love to do. Is get at the root cause of illness. Like the leaky gut. And really start. Healing. From deep within that's what we're talking about with zinc. That's what we're talking about. -- That's what we're talking about with. Complex and as we've learned in the last few years it's not so easy to absorb B vitamins that sometimes we give. What we call activated -- the first step already done for you kinda like a baby food be and that first step to file spore elation is already done. But this is the real cutting edge application. Of nutrition and health it's been enjoyed talking to you about cutting edge nutrition. I'm your host Lindsay Bergsten and I wish you a great week. I Austin.
